Universal Access to Library Materials

The Healey Library is committed to providing library materials and services to all users. If you are an individual with a disability and need accommodation, please inform the library staff, Marilyn Day or Tina Mullins. The library provides location and retrieval of library materials; photocopy services; and research assistance.

Accessible Files

The Ross Center offers a document converter tool called SensusAccess.

It is a self-service solution that automates the conversion of webpages and documents into a range of alternative formats, including Braille, mp3, and e-books for the visually and reading impaired. Supported file types are .doc, .docx, .pdf, .ppt, .pptx, .txt, .xml, .html, .htm, .rtf, .epub, .mobi, .tiff, .tif, .gif, .jpg, .bmp, .pcx, .dcx, .j2k, .jp2, .jpx, .djv and .asc

This service requires a UMass Boston email address.

If you need help with SensusAccess or have questions, please contact rossaltformat@umb.edu or Valerie Haven at 617.287.7425.
