We wish to acknowledge that the University of Massachusetts Boston is situated upon the traditional, ancestral, and unceded land of the Massachusett First Nations. We pay respect to the elders, both past and present, as well as future generations. This acknowledgement demonstrates our commitment to working to dismantle the systems of oppression that have displaced Indigenous Peoples and the ongoing legacies of settler colonialism.

Voter ID laws differ from state to state—some don't require an ID at all, while others have strict photo ID rules that only allow certain types of ID. In some states, student IDs from colleges and universities are accepted; in others, they aren’t.
Note: Some voter ID laws also apply to absentee voting but the image below focuses on in-person voting requirements. See the Massachusetts Voter Information page for specifics within the state.
