As part of Boston’s only public research university, UMass Boston’s Healey Library advances the creation and sharing of knowledge through locally rooted scholarship that promotes social justice and serves the public good. ScholarWorks provides a platform for UMass Boston-affiliated scholars to create, manage, and disseminate high-quality scholarly research while ensuring its long-term preservation and broad accessibility. You can read more about UMass Boston’s mission to support globally-engaged research on their mission statement page.
As ScholarWorks continues to grow and support an increasing number of journals and contributors, we have transitioned to a self-management model where Journal Administrators handle content uploads, basic website maintenance and day-to-day operations. This approach ensures sustainable operations while allowing our ScholarWorks Administrator team to focus on technical support, policy guidance, and troubleshooting assistance. We hope to create a collaborative approach that empowers journal managers and administrators while growing our institutional reach. Read more about starting, hosting, or maintaining a journal on ScholarWorks in the documentation here.
Students also have the option, with the support of faculty members, to contribute to a journal that will be published and made freely available to the public via ScholarWorks. Browse through Undercurrents, one of UMass Boston's active undergraduate student journals, soon to be hosted on ScholarWorks! For more information, contact us.
