person sitting on bookshelfIn the tutorial’s first module you learned some strategies for choosing a topic and beginning your research.

Finding books that focus on your research needs can be one of the first steps to successful scholarship.

Healey Library has over one million books – in print & electronic format – that are excellent sources of both historical and current information.

In this module, you'll learn how to use UMBrella to find books for a research project.

The best place to start searching for books about any topic you need to research is right in your own university library!

UMBrella is your entry to the thousands of print and electronic books, articles, periodicals (newspapers, magazines, journals*), videos, DVDs, etc the library owns or "holds".

Taking the time to use search tips takes you from just an average searcher to a smart, savvy searcher!
